ABOUT US

Far Away Films is a production company founded by Oscar Albert and Daniel Christophersen.

The two met while studying at The London Film School, one of the world's leading postgraduate film institutions. At that time they were dressing up and filming themselves to make shorts they hope no one ever sees.

Since then, through Far Away Films, they’ve written and directed narrative short films that have played at international and Academy Award Qualifying festivals including the BAFTA qualifying London Short Film Festival & CCIFF. They where nominated for the Papaya Young Director of the Year Award.

Meanwhile, they have produced commissioned projects for companies such as The National Trust, The Cartoon Museum and The Guardian.

Their current production slate which includes feature films and TV projects continues to consist of a far reaching range of tone and genre - but what links them all is a focus on reaching and entertaining the audience.

Oscar Albert

A Bafta Connects member “in recognition of his contribution to our industries to date and his promising career ahead.”
Before entering the industry Oscar went to Bristol University where he received a BA in Classical Studies in which a passion for stories and myths reignited a love of film. He then worked in UK television and documentary films for Nick Broomfield and the Maysles Documentary centre.
Currently, he works as a producer developing projects including the upcoming feature film ALBION and the TV show MADHOUSE. Oscar is also a screenwriter whose last two feature scripts were developed by Ffilm Cymru with the first, RIBOLLITA, set to go into production in 2024.

Daniel Christophersen

Daniel, now a writer, director and producer, previously studied Chemical Engineering at the University of Edinburgh and worked for several years in renewable energy.
No one, including Daniel, quite knows why.
Realising his proficiency for nonsense and humour may be better suited to other fields, Daniel completed a Masters of Filmmaking at The London Film School.
Daniel is continuing to develop feature film and TV projects through Far Away Films.

"From the beginning, we feel safe in the hands of the filmmakers insofar as the choice of shots and the grammar of the piece feel stylish and well put together. The film’s production values – the locations and the sense of the world – are also impressive."

Emily Young, BAFTA winning director, talking about our film 'School Ties'

"This is very ambitious and it works. The characters feel authentic and fun, we need some British superhero films! You are a filmmaker and filmmaking team I want to see more work by."
